King Tut!

I was able to see the King Tut exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art last Sunday thanks to some very good friends taking me along on their road trip. It was amazing. Unfortunately, the beautiful pretty coffin (or sarcophagus?) you see in all the pictures stays in Egypt. The detail on all the treasures was incredible. We were trying to imagine some of the carving tools they used 3,000 years ago.

The scarab in this necklace looks like yellow-green chalcedony, but it is glass that formed in the desert from some sort of very hot event!

  1. That's awesome though! I've seen the real thing:) Egypt is so worth the trip if you're ever inclined, but the Met in NY has an incredible exhibit-- even to whole buildings.
